Knowledge that each teacher chooses and teaches in depth on camera.

In South America there is knowledge that still lives in people. In each episode of Puertas Sagradas, a woman or man teacher chooses some of that knowledge and teaches it in depth on camera. The ritual opens the door; what remains is what is learned.

Puertas Sagradas is a documentary anthology with no narrator. Season 1 travels through Peru in 10 doors: coast, highlands and rainforest. In each one, a teacher chooses what knowledge to share and teaches it on camera: how it is done, not just what it is called. Each season has 10 doors: 10 episodes of 10 to 20 minutes, in three parts that each stand alone. No episode has a fixed number: the order is tentative and the first door to be funded opens the series. Seven seasons are planned; Seasons 1 and 2 are in research, and the co-production is confirmed for Season 1 only.

The heart of the series

The ritual opens the door. The knowledge is what remains.

Ritual is the setting, not the story. What the series offers is what remains afterwards: practical ways to live with more attention to the body, to other people and to the land. These practices promise no cures and do not stand against medicine.

Disconnection, anxiety and a loss of meaning are felt in Europe too. This is not about copying other people's rituals, but about reconnecting with what is essential.

How each teacher teaches

Each teacher chooses what to give

None of them reveals everything. Each chooses what to teach and explores it in depth on camera: how it is done, not just what it is called.

No sermons

Knowledge is shown in practice, not preached.

No theory

Each with its how: gestures and steps you can repeat.

No sampler

A few practices, explored in depth. The teacher decides how many.

Each episode has its knowledge poster, in print and for social media, with the knowledge the teacher chose to share, each with its technique. Its content is set after filming and with the teacher’s express approval.

How to take part

Cross the door

You can fund the season, an episode, a part or a piece, or a thematic contribution (subtitling, screenings or educational guides). Each finished episode, with its teacher’s approval, is the best argument for funding the next one.

Visibility for partner organisations

Each partner organisation’s logo appears at the beginning and end of the videos and in all the series’ deliverables, never over faces.

It also appears in the credits, in outreach materials and on the project website, and the organisation receives progress and impact reports.

Options and amounts: on request.

Ethical care

Each teacher decides what is filmed and what is shown, reviews the cut and can withdraw ritual scenes. Asociación Wayra ONG does not sell or appropriate this knowledge, and no support grants any rights over it.
